I am so happy that I submitted my second chapter in my MS thesis for publication today! This one was using environmental DNA to quantify occupancy rates of cryptic Burmese pythons (invasive superpredators, as John Terborgh called them in a lecture he gave in my Community Ecology class) at wading bird colonies in the Everglades!
I traveled by airboat to access 30 different islands all over the central Everglades, collecting almost 300 eDNA water samples in 2017.

Hooray!
